that war piece i did was kind of different from other paintings i usually paint, a lot more stuff going on, but i was getting really frustrated at one point... i think i will try to do more like this one, more figures in one painting, more crazy texture and stuff...

This is really cool Josh! The sense of depth, with the figures just being one level of the read, is really spacious and classic.

I like it i think the only thing id change is the wall facing us... it flattens out the image, and feels at a weird perspective compaired to the building behind it. Over all though i really like it keep up the good stuff.

Also thanks about your comment on my characters, your the first to agree with me about the cat, usually i just get comments about the rabbit...

wonderful environment. How do you go coloring a black&white piece? I've done it before. Anyway, great blog!

I dig it alot and i cant wait to see it in color

one thing that bugs me a bit is the building behind the bridge the lower portion feels different from the top

I think the fact that the wall facing us is different from the background perspective strengthens the piece. It shakes things up a bit and keeps the composition from being systematic and repetitive.

Nice work Josh. I especially like the the way your indicating everything especially in the palm tree and the columns. Keep up the good work.
